Arts
At Samui Bilingual School, we place the arts at the heart of every child's education from an early age, in both kindergarten and primary school. Convinced of the positive impact of art on personal development, we encourage our students to explore their creativity, solve problems in innovative ways, and strengthen their commitment and social skills through artistic practice. Art education at Samui Bilingual School is not just a means of personal expression; it is a pathway to academic and social success, significantly contributing to our students' emotional well-being.
We explore a variety of artistic disciplines, from music to singing to painting. A special emphasis is placed on visual arts, crafts, and theater, allowing for a holistic approach to art that engages students in a continuous process of discovery and creation. The highlight of this artistic exploration is our end-of-year show. Designed and performed by the children, with the support of our dedicated teachers, this special occasion is a celebration of our students' talent and creativity, and of course, all parents are warmly invited to attend.
Our school is committed to making art education a fundamental pillar of our program, thereby shaping not only accomplished learners but also active and creative citizens, fully integrated into their community.
At Samui Bilingual School, we are dedicated to enriching our students' educational experience through the arts, allowing them to express their creativity and develop their artistic sensibility from an early age.
The Children's Wall
Every year, a wall of our school is transformed into a collective work of art. Under the guidance of a guest Street Art artist, our kindergarten and primary students collaborate around a chosen theme to create together. Although these works are ephemeral, disappearing each year to make way for new creations, we carefully preserve photographs of these projects, thereby enriching our common heritage.
Art in All Its Forms
Our school embraces a wide range of artistic disciplines, from music and singing to painting, with a special focus on visual arts, crafts, and theater. The principles of alternative pedagogies, such as Montessori, Steiner, or Reggio, inspire our approach, convinced that manual activities promote concentration, precision, and self-esteem.
Theater at Samui Bilingual School
Theater plays a key role in our curriculum, stimulating children's imagination and social skills. Through improvisation exercises and the creation of skits, our students explore verbal and physical expression, public speaking, and teamwork. The culmination of these efforts is our end-of-year show, where the talents and creations of the students are shared with the educational community, with parents warmly invited to attend this celebration.
Manual Arts and Crafts
Beyond traditional creations, Samui Bilingual School encourages students to explore a variety of materials and techniques, from cooking, which opens up lessons in chemistry, to sewing, pottery, and even basket weaving for older students. These activities are not only rewarding in themselves; they also contribute to other areas of education at Samui Bilingual School, such as costumes for theater or instruments for music.
At Samui Bilingual School, we firmly believe that art is an essential component of education, offering students the keys to become not only better learners but also more engaged and creative citizens.
