Samui Bilingual School welcomes children between 3 and 6 years of age into its bilingual kindergarten classes, in a privileged setting at the heart of Samui, offering tailored education.

France is renowned for its tradition in early childhood education, with traditional pathways incorporating numerous pedagogical advancements, making it globally recognized. At Samui Bilingual Kindergarten, we draw from this quality but go further to offer your children a privileged framework for these crucial years as they explore the world and lay the foundations for a fulfilling future schooling.

The caring and encouraging attention from all staff at our bilingual kindergarten helps children gain self-confidence and develop their creativity and knowledge in a serene environment. Teachers at Samui Bilingual School are always present in pairs within kindergarten classes, one English-speaking and one French-speaking, working together or in small groups to encourage children not to use only their mother tongue.

PEDAGOGY

The small, middle, and large sections of the bilingual kindergarten are led by experienced teachers, specially trained at Samui Bilingual School in innovative methods. They ensure the quality of your children's learning, not only by adhering to the common core of knowledge required by the National Education but by going further with:

Bilingual immersion throughout the day, with French and English-speaking teachers in each class, offering access to English and French at any time. Sessions in small groups are also organized to prevent children from communicating only with speakers of their mother tongue.
Mathematics learning stimulated by concrete representations using recognized methods.
Encouragement for vocabulary enrichment in languages and quality of speech.
And a strong focus on arts (painting, sculpture, manual arts, theatre) and sports (climbing, yoga, athletics). The school team will be supported in these teachings by specialized instructors.

THE CANTEEN

Our bilingual kindergarten section is also a place of sociability. Your child will learn to live with their peers. Rules of politeness and courtesy will appear in the class as your child grows.

The meal is a time for shared discovery. Varied menus, mostly prepared with products from short supply chains and organic agriculture. Children are accompanied with patience and gentleness to learn mealtime gestures and to discover different flavors.

NAP TIME

Rest time is essential. Children staying at school for a nap will find their personalized beds. Sleeping habits (security blanket/pacifier) will be respected. Awakening is staggered throughout the afternoon.

Children who do not nap will still be invited to have a "quiet time," either lying on a mattress, reading a book for themselves, or listening to audio stories.

CONTINENCE

At the kindergarten, children have access to the toilets as soon as they need. We respect the rhythm of the children. They may not be "potty trained" upon entering kindergarten; however, if necessary, we will ask parents to provide "pull-up" diapers to make removing the diaper natural. We guide the children kindly towards this maturity.

Bilingual kindergarten small sections may come for half a day or a full day. From the middle section onwards, children must be present all day.

For the start of the day at Samui Bilingual School, the school doors are open:

from 8:45 AM to 9:00 AM for welcoming children from the Small section
from 8:30 AM to 8:45 AM for welcoming children from the Middle and Large sections
